À propos de Kasia
I am a qualified (certifié) teacher of English in France. English is my first language, and a language that I love teaching, with patience and a sense of humour!
I have a Master's degree in English and German, as well as Human Resources Management. I worked as Human Resources Manager in England for 17 years, where my speciality was employment law. I confidently - and very happily! - teach Business English.
After a move to France in 2019 I began teaching English. I use British materials and methods, predominantly Cambridge University Press, whose teacher training I regularly participate in.
My skills:
- An excellent knowledge of the English language, its vocabulary and grammar.
- Pronunciation. Together we will look closely at the sounds of English and practise them, to give you confidence when you speak! - I studied speech and language therapy in England and know all the tricks for how to improve speech!
- I teach *culture* alongside language, so that you do not sound like a learner, and so that you do not feel like a foreigner in England. My students are prepared for differing levels of formality, directness or complexity. I have helped many young adults who prepare for university in England fit in with their new environment, not just make themselves understood.
- A good listener - I will listen to you and maintain conversation and at the same time note errors. I will give you feedback and suggestions for improvement of grammar, vocabulary and style.
- A friendly and patient approach to conversation and teaching, together with an interest in people, languages and the world.
- A sense of humour and a strong motivation to help people communicate better.

Please note: I do not teach beginners/ lower intermediate level, or primary school children.
I offer a very British and pragmatic approach - together we will learn how to communicate in English effectively. My aim is to teach you to *react naturally* in English to what people are saying to you and to progressively *build your confidence* in your own ability.
This means connecting the study of vocabulary and grammar (memory work) with its immediate use in practice.
I regularly participate in teaching workshops organised by Cambridge University Press, and maintain my knowledge of the most novel and progressive methods.
We will begin by a meeting during which we will discuss your needs and your preferences, as well as the time and effort you are able to put into the study of English. I will be able to assess your level and your strengths and weaknesses. Following on from this, I will devise a learning plan for you and consult this with you. I will give you a realistic study time to achieve your objectives.
I particularly welcome students at level b2 (upper-intermediate) and above, as well as adults looking for Business English, as I have 17 years' experience as Human Resources manager in the UK, where I specialised in employment law, and worked very closely with the legal and finance departments of large companies.
I can prepare you for any of the Cambridge exams, as well as French concours, SciencePo and TOEFL.
Additionally, I have a particular interest in pronunciation work - I studied English and German translation and also Speech and Language Therapy (orthophonie) in the UK, and although I never worked in the profession, my fascination with how humans use language has remained.
