À propos de Riya
Hello! My name is Riya, and I am a passionate and experienced home tutor dedicated to helping students build confidence and excel in mathematics. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working closely with children following the British Curriculum, supporting them through Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, and GCSE level.
My journey into teaching came from a genuine love for mathematics and a desire to make it accessible to everyone. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed when given the right support and encouragement. My role is simply to unlock that potential by creating a positive, patient, and nurturing learning environment.
Parents and students often appreciate my calm demeanor and my ability to explain tricky concepts in a way that finally clicks. I take the time to understand each child's strengths and areas for improvement, tailoring every session to their individual needs. Whether your child is preparing for important exams, catching up on missed topics, or wanting to get ahead, I am here to guide them every step of the way.
I pride myself on being reliable, approachable, and genuinely invested in my students' progress. Seeing a student's face light up when they master a difficult concept is what makes teaching so rewarding for me.

My teaching approach is rooted in patience, adaptability, and building genuine understanding. I believe that every child can succeed in maths with the right guidance, so I focus on identifying each student's unique learning style and tailoring my methods accordingly. I break down complex topics into simple, visual steps and use plenty of positive reinforcement to build confidence.
A typical lesson begins with a quick recap of previous material to reinforce retention, followed by introducing a new concept through guided examples and discussion. We then work through practice problems together, gradually increasing independence, and end with a summary of key takeaways and suggested light practice for the week.
My greatest strengths as a teacher are my ability to connect with students on a personal level and my commitment to making maths feel less intimidating. I create a safe, encouraging space where questions are welcomed and mistakes are treated as learning opportunities.
These lessons are aimed at students following the British Curriculum from Key Stage 2 through Key Stage 3 and GCSE level, whether they need catch-up support, exam preparation, or simply a confidence boost.
