À propos de Dhruv
I'm Dhruv, a final-year engineering student based in Belgium, currently completing two degrees in parallel: a B.Sc. in Electromechanical Engineering at KU Leuven and a B.S. in Data Science at IIT Madras. Alongside my studies, I work professionally as an Algorithms Developer at an industrial technology company in Antwerp, where I build real-time control systems that combine classical engineering with machine learning.
I mention all of this not to impress, but to reassure you: I teach subjects I use every day. The maths, physics, and programming I cover in lessons are not distant memories from a textbook — they're tools I apply in a working engineering environment.
Academically, I've ranked first and second in my cohort in consecutive years, and placed in the top 50 of a competitive machine learning course among hundreds of students at IIT Madras. I've studied across two rigorous technical programmes simultaneously, which has sharpened both my subject knowledge and my ability to manage complex material efficiently.
I work well with students who are struggling to keep up, those who want to get ahead, and everyone in between. I'm patient, direct, and genuinely invested in whether the material lands. My goal in every session is simple: that you leave understanding something you didn't before.

I'm a final-year student completing a dual degree in Electromechanical Engineering at KU Leuven and Data Science at IIT Madras simultaneously, while working as an Algorithms Developer at an industrial technology company in Antwerp. I tutor in maths, physics, and programming — from secondary school through early university level.
How I teach:
My approach is concept-first. Before working through exercises, I make sure the underlying idea is clear — because students who understand the why solve unfamiliar problems far better than those who've only memorised steps. I use a lot of worked examples and try to connect abstract material to something concrete wherever possible. Calculus makes more sense when you see it in motion; probability lands better with a real dataset in front of you.
Typical lesson structure:
A session usually starts with a short check on where things stand — what clicked last time, what didn't. Then we work through the core concept or problem area together, with me explaining and the student attempting problems under guidance. I leave time at the end for independent practice so I can see where understanding is solid and where it needs reinforcing before the next session.
My strengths:
I've studied and worked across multiple technically demanding programmes at the same time, so I'm comfortable switching between subjects and connecting them. My academic record has been strong — ranked first and second in my cohort in consecutive years, and top 50 in a competitive machine learning course at IIT Madras. More practically, I work daily on problems where maths and code intersect, which means I can make that material feel less abstract for students who struggle to see its relevance.
Who this is for:
Secondary school students preparing for exams in maths or physics, and university students in first or second year who are finding linear algebra, statistics, calculus, or introductory programming difficult. I'm also happy to work with students learning Python from scratch — whether for a course, a project, or general programming literacy.
I keep sessions structured but relaxed. The goal is genuine understanding, not just getting through the syllabus.
