À propos de Kowshikaa
Hi, I'm Kowshikaa. I just finished my Master's in Cybersecurity (Erasmus Mundus CYBERUS programme), which took me through Belgium, France and a research internship in Canada. I'm based in Lyon now.
Maths has basically been a constant background language throughout my degree, not as a standalone subject, but as the thing everything else was built on. Threat modeling, algorithm design, analyzing attack patterns, even a machine learning project I built to classify security threats across 10,000+ logs: all of it came back to applied maths and algorithmic thinking at some point. So when I teach this stuff, it's not abstract to me; I've actually had to use it to solve real problems, which changes how I explain it.
English has been my working language since elementary school, so teaching technical subjects in English isn't a translation exercise for me; it's just how I've always done maths and CS, start to finish.
I tend to work well with students who want to actually understand why something works, not just get through a problem set. If you're stuck, I'd rather spend an extra ten minutes figuring out where the confusion actually started than rush to the next question. That's usually the difference between a student who forgets the method in two weeks and one who doesn't.
I'm comfortable with a wide range, from someone just trying to get comfortable with algebra again, to someone deep into algorithm prep for interviews or GRE quant. Tell me where you're stuck and we'll work from there.

I offer tutoring in a few areas, all taught in English :
GRE Prep
Mostly focused on the Quant section, since that's where most of my students actually need help: algebra, arithmetic, data interpretation, the works. We do a lot of timed practice because the GRE isn't really testing whether you can solve a problem, it's testing whether you can solve it fast enough under pressure. I also help spot the patterns in how questions are phrased, since a lot of the difficulty is more about reading the question correctly than the actual maths.
Applied Mathematics
This is for students who need maths to actually connect to something: engineering problems, CS coursework, whatever you're working on. I'm less interested in drilling formulas in isolation and more in showing why a method works and when you'd actually reach for it.
Algorithms
Algorithmic thinking, complexity, breaking a problem down into steps that actually make sense before you write a single line of code. This comes directly from my own background in cybersecurity and CS, so if you're doing NSI, prepping for a technical interview or just stuck on a problem set, this is where I can help most.
Algebra
The foundation everything else builds on. If this is shaky, it shows up everywhere else later, so we take the time to actually fix it rather than just patching over gaps.
