À propos d'Ana-Maria
At heart, I am a true mathematician with a decade of experience in mathematical research and six years of teaching experience.
I have received my Ph.D. from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2022. I also hold a M.Sc. in applied mathematics from Babeş-Bolyai University, and a B.Sc. in mathematics from the University of Bucharest.
I worked as a teaching assistant in the mathematics department at EPFL for four years. This experience has familiarised me with the academical standard and the expectations put on students to succeed in University.
During my Bachelor studies, I helped prepare high-school students for the National Baccalaureate Exam (the equivalent of the Matura Exam in Romania). From this experience, I know how to teach students exam-taking techniques and prepare them for any exam.

Mathematics is not hard, it is just misunderstood.
My approach is to treat every piece of information (definition, theorem, example) as a lego building block. The idea is - the more knowledge one acquires, the more complex the buildings of understanding become.
In my tutoring, I strive to eliminate all confusion regarding elementary concepts. For this, I apply mastery learning techniques that I adapt to the student's timeline and needs.
What I value the most is for the students to feel heard and understood. I want to help them build confidence in their knowledge and encourage them to explore the world of mathematics on their own terms.
