À propos de Ruben
Born in Yecla, Murcia, I took flamenco guitar lessons in my hometown from some local guitarists like Guille Rubio "El Flamenco" and José del Valle, a qualified flamenco guitar teacher at the Superior Conservatory of Flamenco Guitar in Murcia.
A few years later, I moved to Granada, where I continued my training, taking classes from great Granada guitarists like Jorge "El Pisao" from the Carmen de las Cuevas school in Sacromonte; and from one of the most renowned Granada guitarists like Rubén Campos, guitarist for Kiki Morente, among others, in his studio in the Zaidín neighbourhood.
In Granada, I work accompanying the dance classes of María Ureña at the Civic Center in the Albayzín neighbourhood and at the dance academy of the great dancer Irene "La Serranilla." Also in this same city, I took a course with the renowned dancer Ray Benítez, on "El Tablao, language and codes of flamenco dance, singing, and guitar."
A few years later, I continued my training as a flamenco guitarist, this time in Seville, at the Academy of Performing Arts of the great master Eduardo Rebollar, specialising in "tablao" (accompaniment for singing and dancing).
Back in the Granada neighbourhoods of Albayzín and Sacromonte, my learning continues in the various peñas, tablaos, and flamenco gatherings with the different musicians who come and go in the city of Alhambra.
I work as a flamenco guitarist in the flamenco company Atunes Coloraos, where we perform in Granada's tablaos like La Solea or Eshavira, on stages in Málaga, Valencia, and at some internationally renowned festivals like Buskers Bern in the capital of Switzerland.
