À propos de Leanne
Hello! My name is Leanne, I'm from the UK, but have been living in Paris for the last 6 years. I spent the first 2 years working as a freelance English as a Second Language teacher for individuals and small groups of all ages and levels. Since then, I have been working in UNESCO's Education Sector, first as a research assistant and then as a Project Officer. Here I focused on issues of international education, comparative education, education research, higher education, epistemic justice, knowledge systems and the futures of education.
I have the 120 hour TEFL certificate which means I am certified to teach English grammar, vocabulary, Business English and much more! I also have experience of teaching English to children in Tanzania and Ghana over 7 months.
I am proposing English language lessons in a relaxed environment, focusing on either oral and/or written comprehension and expression. I can also offer proofreading services, support with writing CVs and letters of motivation, and some more in depth editing and translation services when I am more knowledgable of the topic. I have experience in proofreading and editing Masters theses, for example, as well as various documents within my role at UNESCO.

Interested in learning English in a relaxed setting with a native English speaker?
I am offering English language classes online or in person (in Paris).
I propose the following types of class, both of which will support development of grammar skills, vocabulary and confidence, and will be adapted to you specific needs and interests:
- conversational: to support you to gain confidence and improve your oral comprehension and expression. We will choose a topic of interest to you to discuss throughout the class and I can also come up with some ideas of relevant and timely topics. I will ask follow up questions to ensure your understanding, but in a relaxed way without pressure. For some mistakes, I may correct you in the moment, but for other more general things I will offer a recap towards the end of points to be aware of.
- written comprehension/expression: to support you to improve your writing skills in English. We can read a text of your choice, or I can propose some text for us to read together. I may ask you to read it aloud to also work on pronunciation and spoken English, then we can discuss the text to ensure your comprehension. You can also bring texts that you have written, or we can have a go at writing something together to work on your written expression. I can correct the text and offer alternative vocabulary or expressions, for example.
I also propose th following services:
- proofreading/editorial: if you have a CV, letter of motivation or other text for which you need to verify the English language then I can offer proofreading services. If the topic is something I know well then I can also offer more in depth editing. My areas of expertise are: international education, education research, international organizations, social work, higher education, epistemic justice, knowledge systems, teaching.
- basic translation (NOTE: I am not a professional translator): support with the translation of French language documents into English to ensure correct syntax, expression, vocabulary and grammar.

Précisions
I am offering classes for 25 EUR per hour, and an additional 2 EUR if I would need to take public transport to reach the class.
If you require proofreading services, the tarif is based on the estimated number of hours it would take me to complete the document.
Examples (noting that all prices depend on the length and complexity of the document):
1x CV = 25 EUR (including the offer of discussing suggested changes if you would like)
1x document of 10 pages = 25 EUR (depending on the complexity of the document, I would estimate that I could complete this within an hour)
1x document of 20 pages = 50 EUR (20 pages would take approximately 2 hours to proofread)
Translation would likely take more time, and I would therefore double the rate of the above proofreading tarifs.
